Budburst Wine & Festival 12th-13th November 2016
Budburst in the Macedon Ranges is when the wine producers of the region put on a festival to celebrate the beginning of the vintage. 20 wineries over 14 sites will participate. For us at The Hanging Rock Winery, this is the largest event of the year. This year is no different:
- Held in the very atmospheric Barrel Hall (all weather dependant)
- Food by Monsieur Pierre
- Live music all weekend
- Our annual warehouse sale
- Tasting of the entire Hanging Rock range, including some new releases
Entry into the festival is $15. This gets you into all 14 venues and entitles you to a commemorative glass.

Hanging Rock Warehouse Sale @ Budburst Festival
This Budburst Festival we will again be opening the doors to our beautiful barrel hall and what comes with that is our annual warehouse cleanskin sale. Our opportunity to move some of those odd ends that clog up the corners of the warehouse, and your opportunity to get a great bargain on some stellar cleanskin wines.

An individual barrel that was bottled for its extreme rich, creamy and nutty characters. It’s a real chardonnay lovers chardonnay. Labelled and everything this is one hell of a bargain.

'Macedon' Master Class and Sparkling Lunch
Have you ever wanted to know more about sparkling wine and the winemaking process? Perhaps you have some 'Macedon On Lees' stored here and would like to disgorge it yourself? Do you love our sparkling Macedon and want to honor it in a lunch dedicated to this sparkling delight? Boy do we have the event for you!
For the first time ever we are going to let you in on the 'Macedon' secret. We will teach you about the whole process, from aging base wine, to blending and then disgorging and finally drinking. If you are one of our 'Macedon On Lees customers you will even get to disgorge some of your own wine.
We will follow this great master class up with a 3 course lunch in the winery where you will get to enjoy a number of different sparkling 'Macedon's' with food matched perfectly from Kyneton's own La Bonta restaurant.
