Mathew Harding began his career in the 2d mediums of painting, drawing and printmaking.During his three decade career, Harding produced a substantial body of work across a wide range of artistic disciplines. In the latter part of his short life, hefocused on large-scale public artworks, sculptural exhibition pieces, craft objects and furniture design.
Harding's stainless steel forms, both mirror polished and exo-skeletal received wide recognition. However, Harding was equally at homeweaving delicate monofilament, andcarving figurative granite and wood.___ Matthew constantly pushed the boundariesinall his chosenmediumsand their conventional processes. Integral to Matthew’s practice were the processes of conceptualisation, design and fabrication of his work. Harding was highly recognized for his stainless steel forms, both mirror polished and exo-skeletal; however, Matthew is equally at home carving figurative granite and wood or weaving delicate monofilament.
